Trying to silence a sports pundit for expressing a social conscience? When Gary Lineker compared the language of the government towards refugees and asylum seekers to that used in Germany in the 1930s it was perhaps ironic that the first thing those aligned with people in power should do was to attempt to silence his dissent and de-platform him. Doubly ironic that these would be the same people complaining about cancel-culture and freedom of speech. Anyway, whilst we douth that England’s former number ten would want to go anywhere near Number Ten, we’d vote for him ahead of most of the alternatives.
